Room to improve

Mike and I have been blessed to finally find a church we really like and connect with. Our one pastor wears jeans and teaches from an Ipad, the other from an Iphone...we fit right in haha, Ava likes the nursery, although she cries when other babies cry and then the care giver has to come find us...such a stinker.
Anyways, we talked about this verse in church on Sunday and it stuck with me.

2 Peter 1:5-8
5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge;6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We should always being trying to improve upon showing others love, kindness, patience, and our godliness. Instead of saying to yourself, you wish you did these things more or thinking you will practice it more, you should just do it. Don't just show interest in the idea, but rather show others that you can do it.

  1. These verses are very interesting. At first thought, godliness would be the last attribute to strive to achieve. However, after godliness is mutual affection then love. It is also stated (although I'm not sure which passage) that God is love. Something else intersting is that in the KJV instead of love it is charity. That is also something to contemplate.
