We always need God"s wisdom so I chose James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.

August Verse
The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirit. Commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established.
Proverbs 16:1-3
I think this vese applys tp Kristin and I with the adoption. We both went through a down period. I really feel that God is trying to teach us patience and faith.

Living with the situations God has put us in.
This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says to all those I carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon: 5 “Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. 6 Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease. 7 Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”
This passage caught my attention. It was part of a letter from Jeremiah to the people of Isrel that had been taken as slaves to Babalon. They were to live in the situation God had put them in. They were to be happy about it and live a life that was productive, and happy even though they were slaves. I know many times I get very down and depressed about situations, thinking about how someone has it so much more or is doing so much better than I. I get lost in that and do not live with the joy God wants me to live in. He has soooooo blessed me. Many times the reason I do not have better is because I do not do as he has said. Plant your food build your houses marry and live life not on what I do not have but on what he is going to bless me with.

July Verse
Praise the Lord. Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who finds great delight in his commands. Psalm 112: 1-2
I found these verses very convicting. I know that I do not fear the Lord like I should. I know in my mind that I'm fearful, but often it doesn't come across in my everyday life. I have read the Bible and know some of the things He has done and can do, yet I don't have the proper amount of fear. I know that I can ask for forgiveness and it will be granted. However, there are so many sins that I do over and over, that if I had the proper amount of fear I would be working harder at overcoming. That leads me to the second verse. "Who finds great delight in his commands" I have a really hard time with that. It is hard enough not doing many of the thing my mind and human nature find appealing. But to enjoy not doing those things is even harder. It will only be by the grace of God that I will hopefully eventually get to that place. As I continue to think about this verse I think it is not only talking about the things we are called not to do, but all the things we are to do. Which can also be difficult at times.
Let me know what y'all think about these verses and my comments. Sorry that I rambled.

Saved As Sinners
Hey,
I missed last month mostly because I am struggling not any one thing I think it is a culmination of a lot of things that are going on in my life. I have not had a good attitude and have withdrawn myself somewhat from people in my life but especially from God. For me it becomes a vicious cycle. When I feel distant and disobedient and just not in a "good place" I find it hard to listen to Christian music, pray, and read the bible. I feel like I am not "worthy" of it and I need to remember that is when I need God the most.
I was thinking back to a sermon we had where Josh pointed out that God saves us AS SINNERS not when we are "in a good place" we cannot achieve that place without God. All this leads me to the verse I chose. The story is where Levi (the tax collector) is eating with Jesus and the scribes have a problem with it because of the views on tax collector's in that day.
And when Jesus heard it, he said to them,"Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners"
Mark 2:17

The Breaking Point
I found this on a book mark that was in my mother-in-laws bible
The Breaking point
" Don't you feel you're liable to break?"was asked of a devoted Christian man who was in the midst of severe testings.
"Yes," he replied, "I often feel I might, but not until the fiftieth Psalm breaks at the fifteenth verse."
"What does that say?" asked his friend.
He opened his bible and read: " Call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and and thou shalt glorify Me."

Moving Mountains
I have chosen Mathew 17:20 for this month. I have always struggled with having enough faith. I continue to work on this and do not know if I will ever get to where I could tell a mountain to move but I do need to get to a point where I will at least have the faith that he will give me and I will act on the faith to do it and trust that in some way that mountain will be moved. I know we all have things in our lives that could be change if we just had the faith and commitment to do it. Hope everyone is having a great day. I am sooooo looking forward to July and seeing all of you.
Matthew 17:20He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Room to improve
Mike and I have been blessed to finally find a church we really like and connect with. Our one pastor wears jeans and teaches from an Ipad, the other from an Iphone...we fit right in haha, Ava likes the nursery, although she cries when other babies cry and then the care giver has to come find us...such a stinker.
Anyways, we talked about this verse in church on Sunday and it stuck with me.
2 Peter 1:5-8
5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge;6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We should always being trying to improve upon showing others love, kindness, patience, and our godliness. Instead of saying to yourself, you wish you did these things more or thinking you will practice it more, you should just do it. Don't just show interest in the idea, but rather show others that you can do it.

Faith
FAITH
IN A WORLD FULL OF GREED
DISHONESTY AND DESPAIR
NEVER LOSE FAITH
GOD IS THERE
WHEN YOU FEEL ALONE
AND LOSE SIGHT
THE DEVILS STRONG BUT HE
WON’T WIN THIS FIGHT
GOD IS THERE TO GUIDE
YOU THROUGH
PRAY FROM THE HEART
HE HAS ROOM FOR YOU
PRAY FOR FORGIVENESS
AND GOD TO COME INTO YOUR HEART
HE’LL GUIDE YOU AND SHOW YOU
IT’S THE RIGHT START
GOD WILL HELP YOU
FIGHT THE TEMPTATION
BUT MAKE THE EFFORT
AND PRAY FOR SALVATION
IF YOU THINK YOUR LOST
YOU’LL ACT LIKE IT TO
BUT WHEN GOD’S ON YOUR SIDE
YOU’LL FEEL BRAND NEW
THINGS CAN GET HARD
AND BE PRETTY ROUGH
GOD IS THE ANSWER
HE’LL MAKE YOU TOUGH
NO MATTER YOUR TROUBLE
OR TRIBULATION
LEAVE IT TO GOD AND HE’LL
SHOW YOU, YOUR DESTINATION

Psalm 40
This is a verse that Beth Moore used for a book I read titled "Get Out of That Pit" and with all that has been going on this past week or so it is good to be reminded that God is there to lift me up and out of "my pit".
Another interesting thing that she said was that we can become "comfortable" in our pits and that is so true!
I waited patiently for the Lord;
he inclined to hear me and heard my cry.
He drew me up from the pit of destruction,
out of the miry bog,
and set me foot upon a rock,
making my steps secure.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear,
and put their trust in the Lord.
Psalm 40:1-3

I chose this verse because they needed someone to take over Mom's Morning Out and the Lord gave me the courage to take it over.
Psalm 18 : 1-3
I love you,O LORD.
The LORD is my rock,my fortress and deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise and I am saved from my enemies.

psalm 121
I lift up my eyes to the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the lord
The maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip
he who watches over you will not slumber;
Indeed, he who watches over israel
will neither slumber or sleep.
The lord watches over you
the lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The lord will keep you from all harm
he will watch over your life;
the lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

How we treat others
This passage struck me as what a poor job I do in helping others with how much I have. The first part of the chapter it talks about how people fast and yet have issues with others and dont help the ones that really need help O this is Isaha 58 guess I should have posted that part.
6 Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.
9 Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26
I came across this verse a couple weeks ago during my reading. It is very comforting during these difficult times.

"Beauty from Ashes"
My verse is: Isaiah 61:3
3 and provide for those who grieve in Zion to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.
This was the a center point of what the speaker at the Mother Daughter Banquet (that I was so blessed to attend.) talked about. Beauty out of ashes, ashes being our hardships in life. I have had a lot of "ashes" in my life. I carry a lot of bitterness and disappointment with some of those ashes. Today the speaker said something key that really talked to me. God gave me those ashes for a reason, and often as humans we don't let God do with us what he intends. So instead of letting God take those ashes and turn them into something good, I think about how I got those ashes and how I hurt because of it. She said to let go of those ashes, lather yourself in the joy that came from those ashes, let Him wrap you in that garment of praise instead of holding onto the hurt. I needed to hear this more than anything today. I'm tired of holding onto old hurt and sorrow, its now way to live and truly be happy.

I was reading in Proverbs again one of my favorit books and read this verse. I really need to live by this. Sometime I wonder if why things do not work out the way I dreamed or thought about how they should work is because that is all I have done. I haven't prayed enough, I havent got off my butt and worked towards a goal and I haven't given up the things I need to to put the time and energy into them to accomplish or make it work.

What do the rest of you think about this verse? Am I on the right track in my thinking on this?

We study All About Joy in our home study last night and this is one of the scripture we read.
Nehemiah 8:10
Nehemiah said, "Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks and send some to those who have nothing perpared. This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.
This verse makes me feel joy to make meals to people who needs help and when you feel grieve always know you have joy through Jesus Christ.

April Verse
Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen. Jude 1: 24-25
This is the verse with which Pastor Josh ends every Sunday. You would think that after hearing it every Sunday for a couple of years I would have it memorized. Sadly I mess it up every week. Hopefully, I get it soon.

proverbs 4:4-7
Rejoice in the lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
April Verse
My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my fortress, I will never be shaken.
-Psalm 62:1-2
This is another favorite because I need to be reminded that God is the only way to find rest and peace! There is a song that we sing often in church that is based on this verse and it is always so encouaging to me. Here are the lyrics:
When troubles come the Lord is near.
My cries resound within His ear.
His proven word has brought me light
and steadfast love, my pure delight.
He is my Fortress, I will not be shaken.
He is the hope of my eternal salvation.
No power can stand against the people that God defends.
I love You, O Lord, My Strength!
When sin attempts to overcome.
In weakness, Christ has made me strong.
Through blood my ransomed heart He sees,
And rescues me from enemies.
He is my Fortress, I will not be shaken.
He is the hope of my eternal salvation.
No power can stand against the people that God defends.
I love You, O Lord, My Strength!
You surround me and sustain me.
You draw me near and embrace me.
You’re before me and behind me.
You invite me in and delight me.
You prepare me and protect me.
You correct my heart and perfect me.
You befriend me, You defend me.
You are my Strength, I will fear no more.
He is my Fortress, I will not be shaken.
He is the hope of my eternal salvation

Romans 8:18
I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory about to be revealed to us.
I chose this one because, this month has been stressful for both Mike and I. However, when you look at the big picture, its just one more thing to strengthen our faith and walk with God.

Proverbs 3 Verses 3 and 4
3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you,
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Then you will win favor and a good name,
in the sight of God and man.
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Then you will win favor and a good name,
in the sight of God and man.
1 Thessalonians 5:16 - 18
Be joyful always; pray continualy; gives thanks in all circumstances for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
Psalm 19:13
Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then I will be blameless, inocent of great transgression.

March Verses
This is a verse that I should say to myself everyday. In the society we live in where there is such an emphasis placed on material possesions and "getting more" it is so important to remind myself of God's teaching.
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world-the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does-comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.
-1 John 2:15-17
