Psalm 40

This is a verse that Beth Moore used for a book I read titled "Get Out of That Pit" and with all that has been going on this past week or so it is good to be reminded that God is there to lift me up and out of "my pit".
Another interesting thing that she said was that we can become "comfortable" in our pits and that is so true!

I waited patiently for the Lord;
he inclined to hear me and heard my cry.

He drew me up from the pit of destruction,
out of the miry bog,
and set me foot upon a rock,
making my steps secure.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God.

Many will see and fear,
and put their trust in the Lord.

Psalm 40:1-3

I chose this verse because they needed someone to take over Mom's Morning Out and the Lord gave me the courage to take it over.

Psalm 18 : 1-3

I love you,O LORD.
The LORD is my rock,my fortress and deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise and I am saved from my enemies.

psalm 121

I lift up my eyes to the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the lord
The maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip
he who watches over you will not slumber;
Indeed, he who watches over israel
will neither slumber or sleep.

The lord watches over you
the lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.

The lord will keep you from all harm
he will watch over your life;
the lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

How we treat others

This passage struck me as what a poor job I do in helping others with how much I have. The first part of the chapter it talks about how people fast and yet have issues with others and dont help the ones that really need help O this is Isaha 58 guess I should have posted that part.
6 Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?
7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.
9 Then you will call, and the LORD will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.

May verse

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26
I came across this verse a couple weeks ago during my reading. It is very comforting during these difficult times.
